Edinburgh fintech BR-DGE has raised £10 million in fresh funding as it pushes its international growth strategy, bringing in Bettor Capital as a new investor. Most coverage described Bettor Capital as a growth partner, though one report said it led the round and another noted that the company did not name a lead investor.

BR-DGE said the money will be used to enhance platform capabilities, strengthen go-to-market activity and support geographic growth. It also said significant new market and product launches are planned for the second half of this year.

Founded in Edinburgh in 2018, BR-DGE describes itself as a payments orchestration platform for enterprise merchants. BusinessCloud said its system combines routing, tokenisation, data insight and intelligent controls to help merchants improve approval rates, customer experience and payment flows across markets.

The company said platform volumes have risen 15-fold in under two years and that transactions are set to exceed 100 million a month by year-end. It has also said it has built a leadership position in gaming payments and is moving into adjacent enterprise sectors.

Recent customer wins include The Hut Group and Betfred. In the company’s announcement, THG was described as a major e-commerce business, while Betfred was described as one of the UK and Ireland’s fastest-scaling betting operators.

Chief executive Thomas Gillan said payments have become a much bigger strategic priority for enterprise merchants, especially in complex, regulated sectors where resilience, customer experience and compliance matter. He said BR-DGE is building an “intelligence and optimisation layer” rather than simply moving money.

The company also appointed Perry Blacher as chairman around the funding round. The announcement said he brings more than 25 years of experience across technology and financial services, with a background as a founder, investor, adviser and board member.

Blacher said merchants need infrastructure that helps them make better decisions, use data more effectively and respond quickly as markets, providers and customer expectations change. He said BR-DGE has the technology, sector knowledge and customer focus to address those problems at scale.

Bettor Capital’s Jake Kleiner said the firm invests in core infrastructure that powers the gaming industry and sees BR-DGE as a clear example of that strategy. Greyfriars, BR-DGE’s long-term investment adviser, said it has supported the company throughout its journey and will continue to do so.
